Albert Einstein once said,

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

Dear God,

I like the rain very much, it's a natural occurrence that I am in awe of. I love thunderstorms, I love to see lightning streaking across the sky. I find the rain washes away all my sadness, I find freedom in its falling. Even though I know the science behind it, I continue to marvel at how brilliant it is.  Thank you for the rain.

Lord I want you to wash away the parts of me that are not right. Keep that which is pleasing in your sight.

simple pleasures

Dear God,

I watched the A-Team, I must say it was a really good movie.

I want to thank you that I can find pleasure and joy in simple things. I realise that I sometimes focus too much on a desire to have every part of my life perfect, looking too far around the bend and not paying attention to what is right here in front of me.

I've come to realize that instead of trying to realise the big picture, I should focus more on the little details and leave the big picture to you. After all I don't know where I am going now, neither do I know what tomorrow will bring. I do however realise all I need to feel that joy is right here in my hands.

Dear God,

It is my hope that I will regularly update this blog with my mundane thoughts, questions, requests, prayers, hopes and rants. It is my hope that I will learn to appreciate you, learn to understand you, be like you and one day not have to write letters to you. I hope to one day converse with you in person. Please do not let me lose sight of my goals, give me the strength and perseverance to always comeback to you in prayer. 

I hope that I will be able to touch the lives of others with this blog. I hope my struggles and your power to help me overcome them shine from my words and may this be an inspiration to those who might read this blog.
